Pitchfest
2002 Winners!
Winner
After considerable deliberation the Judges chose Bioteq Ltd as the
winner of Pitchfest 2002. Bioteq has developed and patented a platform
technology which utilises iodine for water based sanitation. It will initially
be used in the food and vegetable markets and then extended into the global
pharmaceutical and meat processing markets.
The
Event
There was about 170 in attendance to view and hear the 6 finalists
pitch. Sky TV and the ABC Business Breakfast show filmed the event and the ABC
spent considerable time recording the semi-finalists presentations and doing
interviews with the majority of the semi-finalists at their premises around
Australia. The ABC showed the PitchFest story on Monday 18 November 2002.

PitchFest
Entries
The Judges were of the opinion that the 87 entries were of a higher standard
than previously and there is interest from at least one investor in looking at
all the finalists. This is a pleasing result considering the lower venture
capital activity and the PitchFest template being more detailed than last time.
Two of the semi-finalists were from South Australia and one from Queensland.
